500g Medjool dates
90 ml of warm water
55g cacao powder
Pinch of salt
3 tbsp coconut oil
Optional: dark chocolate chips/walnuts/hazelnuts or Doisy & Dam Good Eggs
Preheat the oven to 160 Degrees Celsius
Blend the dates in a food processor for 1 minute. Add the warm water to the date mixture into the food processor until the mixture is smooth and pulse for another minute.
Add the smooth peanut butter, cacao powder and coconut oil to the mixture. Pulse until the mixture is sticky.
Optional: Add the dark chocolate chips and crushed nuts to the mixture, and pulse until the ingredients are well combined.
Line a small dish with baking paper and transfer the mixture to the dish and smooth into an even layer.
Put in the oven for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool in the dish for around 10 minutes to 15 minutes more.
Let cool for at least another 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
